Join us in the classroom on October 4, 2024 for an all day, drop in, book tasting. Come and enjoy a variety of carefully selected books by Indigenous Authors. Find your next favorite read!

Elizabeth Hearn Gleich Lecture

Join us October 5, 2024, at 3 pm in the Great Hall for the Arkell Museum's third annual Elizabeth Hearn Gleich lecture, The Night Watch: From Canvas to Clothing, presented by noted textile historian and weaver Rabbit Goody.

Rabbit Goody will discuss the Arkell Museum's scale copy of The Night Watch, and will talk about the actual canvases used by Rembrandt van Rijn for his work and the gorgeous textiles depicted in The Night Watch.

Lecture: 3pm - 4pm

All are welcome to this free event. Arkell Museum admission will also be free to all visitors on October 5th.

Kids Concert Series

Join us every second Friday of the month for a special kids music concert with talented musician Gary Van Slyke.

Gary has been performing for many years and has a wonderful curriculum of songs that will get your kids clapping, stomping, and singing along. Each concert is unique and full of new songs. Gary might even bring instruments for the kids to try out!

This program is FREE and open to all. The music will be centered on 0 - 11 age group, but older folks are welcome to join us.

Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair

Join us for a celebration of handcrafted and homemade wares at the Arkell Museum & Canajoharie Library’s 2024 Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair on November 2, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

This year Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair will feature craft vendors, regional authors, and our Holiday themed Used Book Table!

The Palatine Literary Society will be in the building providing to-go lunch and bake sale items to benefit their award to a graduating senior. There will also be a basket raffle benefitting Haven For Hope.

Admission to the Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair is FREE.
Admission to the Arkell Museum is discounted to $5.00.

The 2024 Holiday Art and Craft Fair is currently seeking vendors.

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
